Have you taken

The Christian Test?

 

Do you consider yourself a Christian? Are you sure? Have you ever tested yourself?

 

The Bible Says:

"Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves…"

(II Corinthians 13:5).

 

Here’s a simple way to take "The Christian Test." Answer the following questions, then compare your answers with what the Bible says.

 

ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FIRST:

 

1.    Do you consider yourself a Christian? __ Yes __ No

 

2.    Do you believe in God? __ Yes __ No

 

3.    Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God? __ Yes __ No

 

4.    Do you regard Jesus as Lord? __ Yes __ No

 

5.    Do you have a personal relationship with the Lord? __ Yes __ No

 

6.    Which of the following have you done?

 

·       Accepted Jesus into my heart

·       Confessed sins

·       Repented of past sins

·       Asked for forgiveness

·       Confessed faith in Jesus

·       Prayed

·       Was baptized

·       Gone to Church

·       Studied the Bible

·       Confirmation

·       Observed communion

·       Given money to God’s work

·       Sang praises to God

·       Listened to sermons

·       Been a good example

·       Encouraged others

1. II Corinthians 13:5; I Thessalonians 5:21, Does God want you to test yourself to make sure you are a true Christian? --__Yes __ No

2. James 2:19, To be a Christian, is it enough to believe in God? __ Yes __ No

3. John 12:42-43, Is it possible to believe in Jesus without being a true Christian?

4. Matthew 7:21-23, Does simply calling Jesus "Lord" make one a Christian?

5. I John 2:3-5, Can a person really "know" the Lord without doing what the Lord commands? __ Yes __ No

If a person says, "I know the Lord," but doesn’t obey the Lord’s teachings, does that person truly "know" the Lord? __ Yes __ No

6. Acts 11:26, Is a Christian a disciple (learner) of Christ? __ Yes __ No

John 8:30-32, If you believe in Jesus, must you abide in His word to be His disciple? __ Yes __ No

Is it possible to abide in Christ’s Word without doing what it says? __ Yes __ No

Is there a body of truth that must be understood and obeyed? __ Yes __ No

7. James 2:17-26, If one’s faith is not obedient and active, is it dead? __ Yes __ No

Can a person with "dead faith" be saved? __ Yes __ No

Must one hear the Gospel, believe in Jesus, and repent of sins before baptism?

e. Acts 2:38, 40, 41, 47, Since baptism is "for remission of sins," were these baptized believers then saved and added to the Lord’s church? __ Yes __ No

f. I Peter 3:20-21, Does this say that a person is saved before baptism?

Is a person saved at the point of baptism? __ Yes __ No

 

THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING

9. Matthew 13:12-23, Are there people who will not understand God’s message?

Is there danger in not understanding God’s word? __ Yes __ No

Is understanding necessary in order to produce spiritual fruit? __ Yes __ No

a.   Ephesians 5:17, Does the Lord expect His Word to be understood?

__ Yes __ No

b. Matthew 7:21, Is the will of the Lord to be done (obeyed)? __ Yes __ No

c. Ephesians 6:6, Is the will of God to be done from the heart? __ Yes __ No

d. John 12:40; Mark 12:30-33, Does understanding take place in the heart?

e. Romans 6:17-18, To be set free from sin must the Lord’s teaching be obeyed from the heart? __ Yes __ No

Therefore must the teaching be understood when it is obeyed? __ Yes __ No

f. I Timothy 1:3-7, Can a person obey correctly if he/she has been taught incorrectly? __ Yes __ No

If you were taught and consequently believed that your sins were forgiven and you were saved before baptism, were you then baptized for the right reason?
